I had a generally pleasant stay at the Canal Central Hotel in Business Bay, with superb cleaning service and friendly staff. though there were some frustrations with check-in and sunbathing at the pool. The location was convenient for accessing downtown, but I found the pool's shade situation disappointing in the afternoons.
